It was such a perfect day on Sunday, we decided to hit the road and go for a hike. I haven’t been up in the hills in far too long. When I hike, I tend to like trails that lead somewhere with a lake, pond or waterfall. Horseshoe lake was a perfect choice!

Couldn’t capture the entire thing in one shot, but it wraps around the hill on the right, into a true U shape.
We paused and noticed there were about 92379734 newts swimming around! Love their little legs!

The ridge trail had us walking through lush forests, until you came to what seemed like a wide opening into another world. My boyfriend called it “emergence” hahaha.

Gotta love California!

Silly little lizard, he had no problem posing for a photo.

Enjoying the bench on a 73 degree day. (Hiking outfit, yikes!)

It was also the same day as the solar eclipse! Super excited to try and witness it. I remember doing the box trick when I was little. Didn’t have anything like that ready this time, so I just aimed and shot. Pretty amazing what a camera can catch!

solar eclipse!
Just relaxin’.
